Susan Sward is an artist and teacher living in the town of Wakefield, Rhode Island. She has been teaching art and design since 1993. Her teaching experience has given her experience in many forms of art - drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and graphic design. She has a fine art degree in textiles and a master's degree in teaching. She has taught workshops at the Slater Mill Museum, RISD, Rhode Island College, the Wickford Art Association, and the RI Art Education Association.

She began creating her own artwork in 2007 beginning with mixed media. She eventually established herself as a portrait artist, landscape painter, and natural science illustrator. She is a member of the Art League of Rhode Island, The South County Art Association, the Wickford Art Association (Juried Artist Member), the Warwick Center for the Arts, the New England Guild of Natural Science Illustrators, and an Exhibiting Artist at the Providence Art Club .

Her work has been exhibited at the Rhode Island School of Design, Rhode Island College, The Cutler Street Gallery, The Warwick Art Museum, the Wickford Art Gallery, the Atrium Gallery, South County Art Association, and other local venues.
